POST-LARVA
post-larvae
There are no dramatic changes in morphology with the moult to the postlarval stage.
  • the pleopods become large, setose and functional, taking over as the appendages for locomotion. The larva again swims forwards with rhythmic beating of the pleopods.
  • the chelae on the first three pereopods are now functional, with small teeth and short bristles terminally
